Fuad El Rassi, MD is Associate Professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. El Rassi received his Medical Degree from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. His postgraduate medical training included a residency in internal medicine at Saint Louis University Hospital and a fellowship in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. A board certified hematologist, Dr. El Rassi treats patients with sickle cell anemia and other blood disorders. He leads the sickle cell research program at Grady Health System, where investigational agents and curative treatments are being considered in phase I, II and III clinical trials. Dr. El Rassi is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institue. He is a board member and serves as treasurer for the Sickle Cell Adult Provider Network. He is also involved in hematology and medical oncology fellows' training and education in benign hematology and chairs the Fellowship Competency Committee.
