Dr. King is a Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine, and Public Health Sciences at Washington University. She is a pediatric and young adult hematologist and oncologist with formal training in clinical investigation, research methods in public health and education, and implementation science. She directs the Adolescent and Young Adult Sickle Cell Program at Washington University. Her clinical research is focused on the health and education of children and adults with chronic conditions like sickle cell disease and cancer. Her lab assesses the development, cognition and environment and tests interventions to improve the health and function of these populations. She uses implementation science methods to increase the uptake of evidence-based practices to improve outcomes while decreasing disparities. She also serves as Associate Director of the Center for Dissemination and Implementation and Lead for the Education and Training Initiatives at the Institute for Public Health at Washington University
