Lori E. Crosby, PsyD, is a Clinical Psychologist and Professor in the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She also directs the Community Engagement Core, and is Co-Director for Faculty Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Dr. Crosby has a research program in pediatric sickle cell disease that focuses on partnering with patients and clinicians to improve care and outcomes. Dr. Crosby was an invited member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Workgroup that developed the "Addressing Sickle Cell Disease: A Strategic Plan and Blueprint for Action” report released in 2021. Dr. Crosby recently worked on the design and implementation team for the American Society of Hematology Research Collaborative SCD Learning Network which aims to improve reliable use of disease-modifying therapies and co-developed pain care plan. In addition, she was involved with efforts to identify psychosocial and social determinant of health measures for SCD (PhenX Toolkit) and remains involved in a workgroup developing guidelines to promote patient readiness and resilience for SCD curative therapies (CureSCi).
