Janis Bozzo, MSN, RN is Senior Innovation Scientist at Yale New Haven Health System (YNHH) in New Haven, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Arts in in Biological Sciences cum laude from Smith College (1982), Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Louis University (1984), and Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University (1996). Ms. Bozzo started her career in inpatient nursing, first in neurosurgery and then in adult psychiatry. During her Master’s studies she was mentored by Dr. Donna Diers, former Yale School of Nursing dean and international leader in the development of nursing research and the use of hospital data to understand clinical practice and management. Together with Stephen Allegretto, Sr. VP in Finance at YNHH, Dr. Diers and Ms. Bozzo established an office for hospital data analysis and developed an integrated clinical, operational and financial analytical model. Ms. Bozzo has extensive experience with healthcare financial analyses including bundled payment models. She has presented, consulted, and published internationally on data management and analysis, and outcome metrics for diabetes and sickle cell disease. She has received honors from the Connecticut Nurses’ Foundation and the Connecticut Hospital Association.
